Nigel Coates
After training at the Architectural Association he soon became In an original design force, his original narratives have been translated into many buildings, interiors and exhibits around the world, especially in the UK and Japan. His more experimental work has been exhibited in an art and design context, including exhibits such as ArkAlbion which was shown at the Architectural Association in 1984, Ecstacity at the same venue in 1992, Mixtacity at the Tate Modern in 2007, and Hypnerotosphere at 11 & ordf; Venice Architecture Biennale in 2008.
He is highly sought after as a lighting and furniture designer, collaborating with many Italian companies.
Nigel Coates was the Artistic Director of Slamp from 2008 to 2010.
