Enric Sòria

Born in 1937 in Barcelona, Enric Sòria studied architecture at the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB) until 1970. in the office of Oriol Bohigas, where he met a Jordi Garcés with whom he collaborated; until 1996. During that time, they laid the foundations of rationalism and contemporary avant-garde, defending the geometry of architecture and the functionalities of its composition. Among the first projects of his work, the design of museums stands out, among them the reconversion of the old Asilo de Santa Lucía to the Science Museum (1978-1980) or the Picasso Museum (1981-1987). Subsequently, he had a certain presence in cultural and sports buildings such as the Hebron Valley Sports Palace (1990-1991) for which he was awarded the FAD Prize for Architecture in 1991. the design of the IMAX theaters (1993-1994) and the Ágora Rubió; i Balaguer of the Pompeu Fabra University at the Ciutadella campus in 1994, where he won the award. the City of Barcelona Award for Architecture and Urbanism in 1996.
