Anthony Dickens
Anthony Dickens has been running his own design studio for ten years. The essence of Anthony's work lies in his desire to create objects that are simple yet innovative in their function and thought provoking. The designer provides new versions of traditional objects, revolutionizing archetypes and creating, from scratch, the objects that surround us on a daily basis. This is exactly what he did by creating a watch that tells time in a more natural and representative way – andndash; with a linear orientation –ndash; with respect to the classic circular movement. He also applied it to the design of the Anglepoise lamp, to reflect the current way of working by lighting up computer screens. He divides his work into domestic and commercial products. Domestic products include the Origami line of tables, which has won the "Best Table" award. Elle Decoration Award, the Anglepoise 'Fifty' lamp, which has been shortlisted for the Design Museum's Brit Insurance Product of the Year, and the most recent Around watch for Lexon. Anthony has received many commissions from companies that wanted to give their brands a new look. He has managed projects for companies such as Red Bull and Veuve Clicquot and a new home line for Audi, created using parts from the TT car. Anthony is one of the co-founders of Together Creative, a network of designers, architects, filmmakers, illustrators and writers who work in flexible teams to create tailored communication for their broad portfolio of clients.
