André Ricard
Recognized pioneer and ambassador of industrial design in Spain, Andr & eacute; Ricard has made a decisive contribution to the social and business development of this discipline. He has been president of ADI-FAD and founding president of ADP, in addition to being a pillar in the 1992 Olympic Games.
Andr & eacute; Ricard also stands out for the design of more everyday objects such as the Copenhagen ashtray or the Menhir lighter as well. as per the lamp design, as Tat & uacute; or Fontana, edited by Santa & amp; Cole. Behind each of these seemingly simple objects is a deep and thoughtful process about functionality and practicality.
Most of their designs are characterized by the use of natural materials that require special treatment through artisanal techniques. Andr & eacute; Ricard is a great advocate of manual intervention in the production process of his designs. Craftsmanship, in the eyes of the designer, is a way of maintaining traditions, the authenticity of things and, above all, it allows differentiation.
